Patient Advocate / Relations
The dedicated health care providers and support staff of Barquist Army Health Clinic strive to meet our patient's needs and expectations by consistently delivering quality patient-focused health care and preventative services to our beneficiaries while maintaining a safe and pleasant environment.
We realize that one of the most important factors in patient care is communication. We encourage you to ask questions and voice your concerns. If you have questions, concerns, or complaints regarding health care or services at our facility, please visit our Patient Advocate or call 301-619-0976.
The Patient Advocate serves as a liaison between beneficiaries and/or their family members and Barquist Army Health Clinic staff to facilitate optimal quality health care, promote respect and support the Rights & Responsibilities of the patient, educate and advise patients on the proper clinic policies and procedures. We believe in and fully support the patient's right to:
- Present valid concerns or complaints
- Request individual assistance
- Make recommendations or suggestions
Most problems and concerns are best resolved within the department or area providing care for you or your family. We suggest you first talk with the Head Nurse and noncommissioned officer in charge or officer in charge. If you still have concerns, please visit the Patient Advocate.
Valid concerns and complaints help us to identify areas for performance improvement. You may be asked to provide written documentation or a summary of events. Based on the findings, interventions and/or actions may be taken by the Department or Command Leadership. We invite you to provide feedback regarding individual experiences,
both positive and negative, within Barquist Army Health Clinic. This can be accomplished a number of ways:
- Complete a survey through the Interactive Customer Evaluation system (ICE)
- Provide responses to the Joint Outpatient Experience Survey (JOES) delivered to the beneficiaries residence
- Contact the Joint Commission of Healthcare Organizations or Quality Monitoring at (800) 994-6610 or via e-mail at complaint@jcaho.org.
